GHS: Labels and SDS
Compliance with applicable global standards is a core element of Avantor's world-class quality systems. All of Avantor's U.S. product labels and Safety Data Sheets (formerly Material Safety Data Sheets) are compliant with the Global Harmonization System (GHS) of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals.
What Is GHS?
GHS is a multi-year global initiative led by the United Nations. It involves regulatory bodies and industry participants working to establish and harmonize criteria for the classification of chemicals according to physical, health and environmental criteria.
GHS creates common classification standards and communication protocols for chemical product labels and Safety Data Sheets. It standardizes these important hazard communications so customers - regardless of their locations - can easily identify hazard information related to chemical products.
